Top Wedding Venues in Louth for Beautiful Wedding Videos

Louth may be the smallest county in Ireland but when it comes to wedding venues, it packs its punch!

In no particular order, here is a short list of my favorite Venues to Shoot awesome Wedding Videos in and the reasons why.

Bellingham Castle, Castlebellingham

Just a 10-minute drive from my front door and right beside the M1 motorway lies Bellingham Castle. The Cabra Castle group bought Bellingham years ago and transformed it into one of the top wedding venues in county Louth. Their attention to detail is second to none. From the staff in the car park to help your guests inside with their luggage, the warm fire complimenting the warm welcome as you come to the front door. The two Irish Wolfhounds who may (if you are lucky) raise an eyebrow, right through their stunning backdrop both indoors and out for your wedding reception.

The food in Bellingham is second to none and no request is too big. You and your guests will get lost exploring the small rooms of Bellingham in awe of how different each one is.

Seagrave Barns, Dunany

Owned by husband and husband – Eugene and John, and run by Joe, Seagrave Barns in Dunany Co Louth packs a serious punch. I visited here when they first started out and every visit since has left me speechless by how they are constantly evolving and improving and I hope it never ends. They even have Llama to keep the grass down and this is the first sight that greets you on arrival.
There are two barns on site. Don’t be put off by the term Barn. They are far more comfortable than anything you’d find on a farm.

The smaller hosts the indoor ceremony area and backs onto a bar and cafe area for drinks receptions. The bigger barn is the show stopper. Built shortly into their tenure as a wedding venue, this unassuming barn becomes impressive the second you walk through its large doors.

The key to Seagrave is that they will supply you with everything that you would need or want but it’s down to you to put your mark on it and make it “yours” for your wedding day and they will accommodate that the whole way through.

If the sun is shining, your ceremony has to be in the forest because it’s breathtaking.

The grounds are littered with the most impressive of Glamping pods.
These guys do it right and I truly have nothing but good things to say about it!

Ballymacscanlon Hotel, Dundalk

Everyone in Dundalk knows & loves the BallyMac! It’s a local institution. The Old Country House Hotel is set on beautiful grounds, surrounded by a great golf course at the foot of the Cooley Mountains. There is even a Dolmin to impress the guests (and it makes a great background for the wedding video!)
At The Ballymac, Weddings run like clockwork – effortlessly efficient and unrushed.

Their dedicated wedding wing provides a spacious environment for your guests to celebrate & mingle. The manicured gardens are easy to access. When the sun shines the BallyMac is a special place.

There’s a very good reason that the Ballymac restaurant is always fully booked, they serve some of the best wedding food that I have ever seen – and I’ve been to a few!

The Carrickdale Hotel

I have to include the Carrickdale Hotel. This place has history! Famed for it’s location on the old N1 and now with its very own exit off the  M1 motorway, the Carrickdale is a survivor. This survival is for a very good reason. They have it all. Beautiful gardens, a dedicated reception room and highly committed, professional staff who ensure that both you and your guests are as comfortable as can be. All the Wedding Videos shot here have been fantastic with everyone enjoying the food and hospitality – its always a great time.
It’s hard to look past it.

Carlingford Brewery Co

These guys are magicians. The Carlingford Brewery is set on the grounds of an old mill, their aptly named Old Mill and Tain Taprooms are the perfect setting for any wedding. The array of food that they can cater for is second to none, from wood-fired pizza through to a BBQ, the perfect place for you to say I do or have day two, And what other venue would you spy an old train sitting on the grounds? And it’s got history too! It’s been all over the world including North America!

The Riverbank Kilanny

The Riverbank is debatable for this post because it’s nearly disputed land. The townland of Kilanny where The Riverbank rests is split between Louth and Monaghan but well used by Louth folk and for good reason. Run by husband and wife, the riverbank is well known locally for it’s 5 star food. But beside the beloved restaurant and guest house is one very bespoke wedding venue using the very same kitchen as that top class restaurant.
